The design aims to preserve the existing historic context while minimizing intrusion, allowing for the serene experience of the green setting. In line with this, the main courtyard and the building masses on the upper plateau remain unchanged. A new void is introduced into the ground plane, linking the two buildings.

On the lower plateau, the service spaces are renovated while maintaining the original geometry to connect the existing buildings and create both horizontal and vertical links between the upper and lower plateaus. The old platform extends into a new public plaza on the lower plateau. A contemporary built area is added to define the development timeline and foster harmony between the old and new.

Interior walls and gallery floors are redesigned within the existing buildings to meet programmatic needs and enhance connectivity. An additional structural system along the facades supports the changes and the renovation of the buildings.

The vaulted retaining wall on the southern side of the upper plateau, supporting the hill, is transformed into a gallery for temporary exhibitions. The eastern end houses cabin-like art spaces that connect to the surrounding woods. The design integrates the old with the new, creating a unified experience that feels timeless and in-situ.
