​The proposed design for the Northern Electricity Supply Company (NESCO) Main Control Center in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, will serve as the central hub for monitoring and optimizing electricity distribution. The design emphasizes contextual sensitivity, sustainability, and climate responsiveness.

 

Stepped building masses respect the surrounding scale, while north-south orientation and passive strategies enhance natural lighting and ventilation. A double-screen façade, renewable energy systems, and shaded terraces contribute to energy efficiency.

Rajshahi is the hub of the silk industry in Bangladesh. The “Silk-Spun Nexus” concept draws inspiration from the cocoon of silkworms, symbolizing transformation and protection, expressed through layered straight and curved façades.
